Vogelgrun hydropower plant has recently been hybridized with a battery energy storage system and four Kaplan units of 35 MW nominal power each. ReHydro will implement and demonstrate the benefits of an advanced control system for improving water management while maximizing the plant flexibility and lifetime of the mechanical equipment.
